KGS core inventory download
Data fields description |
coreID | Unique id number for the data row (useful for GIS - use 'call_number' for KGS identification of the core record). |
---|---|
call_number | Unique serial identifier for each core in the KGS database. |
core_purpose | Identifies the original purpose of the core. |
general_location | Identifies the part of the state from where the core is derived. |
operator | Well operator of record when the well for the core was originally drilled. |
hole_number | Core hole number assigned by the original operator. This number matches the drilling records on file at the Kentucky Geological Survey. |
farm_name | Original farm or lease name (usually mineral owner in the case of severed minerals) under which the well was drilled. |
core_elevation | Recorded ground-level elevation of the well in feet above sea-level. |
interval_top | The recorded depth in feet of the top of the core. |
interval_bottom | The recorded depth in feet of the bottom of the core. |
number_of_boxes | The number of core boxes for the core. |
date_received | The date the core was received at the EARL. |
date_processed | The date the core was processed at the EARL |
comments | Relevant comments recorded by EARL staff. |
coal_uniqueid | If the core is derived from a coal borehole, this is the KGS identifier that can be used to identify the original coal borehole. |
record_number | If the core is derived from an oil and gas well, this is the KGS identifier that can be used to identify the original oil and gas well. |
shelf_number | The shelf number at the EARL where the core is stored. |
core_description | Indicates if a core has a description (-1 for yes). |
core_analysis | Indicates if a core has an analysis (-1 for yes). |
azimuth | The recorded azimuth of the core. |
inclination | The recorded inclination of the core. |
skips | Indicates if the core has skips (-1 for yes). |
IGSN | The International Geo Sample Number assigned to this core. This allows this core to be discoverable in the System for Earth Sample Registration. |
quadrangle_name | Name of the USGS 7.5-minute, 1:24,000-scale quadrangle on which the core is located. |
county_name | County in which the core is located. |
state | State in which the core is located. |
surface_elevation | Ground-level elevation of the core (well) in feet above sea level. |
cored_interval | The recorded depth in feet for the top to the bottom of the core. |
core_photos | Indicates if a core has photos taken of the core boxes (-1 for yes). |
diameter | The diameter of the core in inches. |
akgwa | If the core is derived from a water well, this is the KGS identifier that can be used to identify the original water well. |
CoreReport_url | This is the URL for the detailed core report for this core. This will also display the core photos for boxes if they are available. |
coordinate_system_name | Name of the selected coordinate system for the x_coordinate and y_coordinate. |
coordinate_EPSG | The European Petroleum Survey Group (EPSG) Spatial Reference System Identifier (SRID) for the selected coordinate system. This is a standard code describing the selected coordinate system and is useful for GIS and web mapping. |
x_coordinate | The x coordinate (latitude or easting) in the selected coordinate system for the call_number, if available. |
y_coordinate | The y coordinate (longitude or northing) in the selected coordinate system for the call_number, if available. |
