Kentucky Oil and Gas Gathering Lines
These data are compiled by the Kentucky Division of Oil and Gas Conservation as part of their regulatory responsibility
for oil and gas gathering lines pursuant to 805 KAR 1:190. (For more information see
https://www.dogc.ky.gov/gatheringlines/.)
These data are submitted by operating companies to DOGC in a variety of formats with different levels of accuracy.
While every effort has been made to insure the correctness and suitability of the data, no representation or guarantee
can be made as to the accuracy or completeness of the data.
Following are explanations of the attributes for the features.

OF and GF
Oil Flow and Gas Flow are the lines from the wellhead downstream until they connect with another line and production is comingled.
"Gas production flow line" means the segment of a gathering line running from a well to the point of interconnection with another gathering
line or production compressor. When a well produces both oil and gas, the line from the well shall be considered to be a gas
production flow line, to which all appropriate requirements of this administrative regulation are applicable.
"Oil production flow line" means a gathering line running from a well or wells to a tank battery for production treatment and
storage. In the case of an injection well, the line from the tank battery to the well shall be considered an oil production flow line,
to which all appropriate requirements of this administrative regulation are applicable.
OG and GG
Oil and Gas Gathering lines are the lines downstream from the point production is comingled from two wells, generally to the
tank battery for oil and to the transmission lines for gas.
From 805 KAR 1:190. Gathering lines:
(4) "Gathering line" means any pipeline that is installed or used for the purpose of transporting crude oil or
natural gas from a well or production facility to the point of interconnection with another gathering line, an
existing storage facility or a transmission or main line, and includes all lines between interconnections, except
those lines or portions thereof subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the United States Department of Transportation under
49 C.F.R. Parts 191, 192, 194 and 195.
WI
Water Injection are lines from the tank battery to the injection well for the purpose of reinjecting formation water
produced with the oil back into a formation for disposal or as part of a secondary recovery project. These are treated as
oil flow lines for the purposes of regulation.
From 805 KAR 1:190. Gathering lines
6) "Oil production flow line" means a gathering line running from a well or wells to a tank battery for production
treatment and storage. In the case of an injection well, the line from the tank battery to the well shall be considered an
oil production flow line, to which all appropriate requirements of this administrative regulation are applicable.
BF and BG
Both Flow & Both Gathering are flow and gathering lines that transport both oil and gas.
From 805 KAR 1:190. Gathering lines
"Gas production flow line" means the segment of a gathering line running from a well to the point of interconnection with
another gathering line or production compressor. When a well produces both oil and gas, the line from the well shall be
considered to be a gas production flow line, to which all appropriate requirements of this administrative regulation are applicable.
