Search for Kentucky Geologic and Lithologic Descriptions
What is this? This service allows you to search the entire Kentucky Geological Survey database for geologic descriptions. These include lithologic, economic, archeologic, paleontologic, geophysic, geotechnic, geomorphic (landforms), hydrologic, landuse,
and structural descriptions from KGS publications, maps, and field notes. Many of these descriptions were derived from
708 Kentucky geologic quadrangle maps that cover
the entire state of Kentucky. The lithologic descriptions are arranged by stratigraphic order (youngest to oldest), and links to view the extent of units on the KGS Geologic Map Service are available
where possible.
