Manage scheduled tasks

Administrators and members with the Schedule notebooks privilege can manage their scheduled notebook tasks from the Notebooks home page. Administrators can view and manage all scheduled tasks from the Manage tasks window. Members with the Schedule notebooks privilege can view and manage their own tasks.

In the Manage tasks window, administrators or members with the Schedule notebooks privilege can use filters to manage tasks based on the date a task was created, tasks that were most recently updated, and by status parameters. From this window, you can also find or open the notebook each task belongs to.

View and manage tasks

To view and manage tasks from the Notebooks home page, follow the steps below:

  1. Verify that you are signed in as either an Administrator or with the Schedule notebooks privilege.
  2. Click Notebook to go to the Notebooks home page.
  3. Click Manage > Manage tasks

From the Manage tasks window, you can view the following:

    • Name — The name of the task. Clicking on the name will open the task details page. Click Chevron, to view and open the associated notebook.
    • Member — View the username and full name of the user.
    • Next run — Date and time the task will run next.
    • Created — Date and time the task was created.
    • Updated — Date and time the task was last updated.
    • Status — Status of the task (Failed, Active, Paused, Disabled, Competed). Click More to view additional options for managing the task (View details, Edit, Restart, Delete, Pause, Resume).

  4. Click Actions Actions next to the task and do any of the following:
    • Click Details to view the details and status of each run of the task. To view the run results, click the Results button. A task's status can be one of the following:
      • Succeeded—The task completed successfully.
      • Executing—The task is currently running.
      • Failed—The task failed to run successfully. If a task fails five times, it is completely stopped.
      • Skipped—The task was skipped because a previous run was still running.
    • Click Edit to change the title, parameters, or schedule of the task.
    • Click Pause to pause an active task. When paused, click Resume to resume the task.
    • Click Delete to remove the task.
      Note:

Deleting a task also deletes the run history of the task. To preserve an active task's history, consider pausing the task to stop further runs.
