Access templates

In ArcGIS Mission Manager, users have access to creating and using mission templates. Mission templates provide users a means for creating missions that are similar in nature and need to be duplicated and stood up quickly. Mission templates have two methods for being created: from within the mission details page and through an interface in My Templates. All mission templates created by a user can be viewed and accessed in this interface as well.

Accessing mission templates

Mission templates are in their own section that is accessed from the mission manger console. To access the mission templates section, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the ArcGIS Mission Manager web application from portal.
  2. Select your user profile.
  3. From the drop-down list, select My Templates.

    If user is a Mission administrator, all mission templates on the portal will be displayed.

Create a new mission template

From the Mission Templates page, users can create a new mission template without being in a current mission. This can be useful for creating missions to be used in future instances where a mission needs to be accessed and initiated quickly.

To create a new mission from a template, complete the following steps:

  1. Click My Templates.
  2. Click New Template.
  3. Enter the following:
    • Title (required)
    • Description (required)
  4. Optionally, add a thumbnail.
  5. Choose to enable or disable any capabilities you want in the template.
  6. Map layers section will display all additional layers and a preview of the mission map.

    These layers will be added to the mission during creation.

  7. View the reports included in your template.

    Note:
    The Tactical Summary Report and report symbology will always be included.

  8. View the materials included in your template.
  9. Click Create.

    You can access the template from the My Mission Templates page.

Create a mission from a template

Missions can be created from the templates the user has available to them. To create a mission from a template, complete the following steps:

  1. Click My Templates.

    A modal appears.

  2. Select a mission template from My Mission Templates
  3. Enter the following:
    • Mission Name (required)
    • Mission Summary
  4. Choose to enable or disable any capabilities you want in the template.

    Note:
    Reports and additional materials can be edited after mission creation.

  5. Click Create Mission.

    A modal appears taking you through the mission creation process.

  6. Click Done.

You can open your mission or edit your mission in Mission Details.
