Twenty-five primary research laboratories dedicated to cancer research, including core facilities for high field NMR, DNA sequencing, protein sequencing, peptide synthesis, and oligonucleotide synthesis. |
Accessible Entries: |
There are automatic doors on the south side, facing the hospital courtyard. |
Parking: |
There are two van accessible parking spots in the Markey Cancer Center parking lot located on the north side of the Whitney-Hendrickson Cancer Facility for Women on Huguellette Drive. There is also a drop-off loop located off Rose Street on Hospital Drive (which is behind the Ben F. Roach Cancer Care Facility on the north side of the hospital). |
Exterior Access Route: |
From the Markey Cancer Center parking lot there is a ramp that leads to automatic doors into the Whitney-Hendrickson Cancer Facility. Proceed through this building into a courtyard. Travel around the Combs Building to the automatic doors on the south side. From the drop-off loop, proceed to the automatic entrance on the south side. |
Interior Access Route: |
The south side entrance opens into the main lobby/atrium. All three floors are accessible via the elevator. There are automatic doors at the end of the corridors. |
Rest Rooms: |
Rest rooms on all floors are accessible. Some are handle operated, while some are knob operated. First floor rest rooms are located just off of the lobby/atrium at the end of the corridors. |
Elevators: |
There is an elevator located in the main lobby/atrium. |

Call in advance at 859-257-4500 or inquire in room 132 on the first floor of the Whitney-Hendrickson Cancer Facility for Women. |
Other Notable Aspects: |
The Dorothy E. Combs Cancer Research Building is part of the Markey Cancer Center, along with the Whitney-Hendrickson Cancer Facility for Women, the Davis-Mills Center (MRISC) and the Ben F. Roach Cancer Care Facility. |
