Bosomworth Health Science Research Medical Center Research Expansion

1095 VA Drive

Who's Here:

Medical Researcher

Accessible Entries:

There are two automatic entrances. The front entrance, facing the drop off area along VA Drive, has a button to open two connected doors, but there is a vertical bar between the doors resulting in a narrow entrance.

The rear entrance, facing the UK Hospital has a button, but this door is narrow as well. Also, both entrances close quickly once activated.

There is a drop off zone in front of the main entrance facing University Drive. There is parallel parking across the street on VA Drive. These spaces are unsafe for van access, because passengers would have to unload on the street side. Parking is also available behind the Dimock Animal Pathology Building adjacent to this building.

Exterior Access Route:

The building is accessed from the sidewalk along VA Drive, and the pedestrian mall between adjacent medical buildings.

Interior Access Route:

The elevators are located directly inside the courtyard doors and are extremely easy to find. From the entrance facing University Drive, go straight across the large foyer toward the rear entrance. The elevators are located to the left and right of the that entrance.

Rest Rooms:

Restrooms are located on every floor. There are no automatic doors but inside there are accessible stalls and there is plenty of clearance under the sinks for persons using wheelchairs.

See "interior access route" for instructions on how to locate the elevators. The buttons inside are low and easily accessible.

For Assistance:

There is no information on assistance.

Other Notable Aspects:

There is no front desk for visitor information, but finding one's way around is fairly easy. Also note that there are no public accessible phones in the building.

No photo available for this building.
