Description: The 2013 and 2016, 7.5-minute quadrangle index map in Kentucky Single Zone State Plane Coordinate System (FIPS 1600; EPSG 3089). This layer was generated in ArcMap from latitude and longitude geographic coordinates, using NAD83 datum as reference. The dataset incorporates both Kentucky-specific and USGS attributes for each quadrangle.
Description: This Kentucky-specific quadrangle index grid was developed for the KyTopo Map Series. The 60,000' x 40,000' grid tiles are landscape oriented, fit on a standard Arch-D sized sheet, and are provided in Kentucky Single Zone (FIPS 1600). Names were developed utilizing a USGS methodology that focus on the most prominent map features.

Description: This vector dataset contains a polygon tile index grid attributed with links which allow the user to download compressed LiDAR tiles currently available for Kentucky. Data was collected over multiple years (2010-2016) as part of the ongoing Kentucky Aerial Photography and Elevation Data Program (KYAPED), which include FEMA, NRCS and other project areas throughout the Commonwealth. All tiles are named in accordance with the 5K imagery grid of Kentucky.LiDAR file formats range from LAs 1.2 to LAS 1.4. LiDAR was collected during the winter at Nominal Pulse Spacing of 1.0 meter or better for the entire project area while no snow was on the ground and rivers were at or below normal levels. A Digital Elevation Model derived from the bare earth (ground class) LiDAR points is available for use as a service or for download as raster files from the KyGeoPortalAverage Point Density Flight Altitude (AGL) Field of View Minimum Side Overlap RMSEz 2 pt / m2 2,000 m 40° 30% ≤ 15 cm LiDAR data were delivered in State Plane Coordinate System (Kentucky Single Zone, FIPS 1600; EPSG 3089); horizontal datum was NAD83, vertical datum was NAVD88 (Geoid 12B); linear units US survey feet. All deliverables are tiled as a 5,000 US Survey ft x 5,000 US Survey ft grid.Kentucky's Statewide Digital Aerial Photography and Elevation Basemap Update provide a common digital mapping base for state and local government, as well as the private sector. LiDAR data provides the foundation for terrestrial mapping programs throughout the state and local governments.
